Masahiko Kondo will be releasing his 50th single “Let’s Go!” this Nov 21st. The said single will be used as a theme song for TV Tokyo’s upcoming anime, “Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter“. It has been 2 years and 9 months since he released his last single “Zanbara” in 2010.
“Let’s Go!” is Masahiko’s first time to sing for an anime, moreover, since the anime will be broadcasted in North America, Europe, and Asia, it is seen as huge chance for Masahiko to make a global debut. “Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter” is based on manga with the same title about a battle between cars that transforms into robots. Masahiko, who is an avid car racer himself, is particularly happy with the anime’s theme.
Masahiko is known to hit the millions in record sales. His debut single, “Blue Sneakers” have gotten 1,256,000 sales, while “Midnight Shuffle” earned him 1,004,000 in sales. Joe Rinoei, who composed “Midnight Shuffle”, is also in-charged of composing and arranging Masahiko’s latest single, which is reportedly upbeat that will give you a feeling of being in speed. Even though “Let’s Go!” is Masahiko’s 50th single, with his long absence from the limelight, speculations are rife that he might hit the million mark again.
“Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter” will start its broadcast on Oct 2nd while “Let’s Go!” will go on sale on Nov 21st.
