It has been earlier reported that KAT-TUN‘s Koki Tanaka will play a monk named Gyoukei for the upcoming TBS drama “Ooku ~ Tanjou ~ Arikoto. Iemitsu Hen” where Sakai Masato plays a priest named Arikoto.
The said drama is from a popular manga by Fumi Yoshinaga, which revolves around an alternate history in Edo period wherein a mysterious plague affects only the male population leading to role reversal.
Last Oct 5th, Tanaka performed the stage greeting during for the 1st episode preview of the said drama. In the beginning, Tanaka has to portray a 13 year-old student of Arikoto wherein he to has dropped 7kgs in weight and shaved his leg hair. Moreover, Tanaka revealed that he used whitening cosmetics for the 1st time. Those are just of the preparations he did to give justice to his character.
“I imagine how a 13 year-old would look like so I shaved my hair on my shin,” Tanaka shared. Sakai, who have seen Tanaka’s bare legs, revealed that the shooting finished without having to exposed Tanaka’s bare legs.
“I was thinking that, at 13, leg hair has just started growing,” Tanaka said with a bitter smile.
“Ooku ~ Tanjou ~ Arikoto. Iemitsu Hen” will air on Oct 12th, 10PM (JST) at TBS while the movie will hit the theaters on December.
