Completion Announcement for “Mogura no Uta senyuu sosakan REIJI”

Last Jan 21st, Ikuta Toma attended the completion announcement for his upcoming movie, “Mogura no Uta senyuu sosakan REIJI” in Tokyo Dome City Hall. Also in attendance, are: Yamada Takayuki, Kamiji Yuusuke, Shinichi Tsutsumi, Osugi Ren, and Iwaki Koichi among others. Actress Naka Riisa, who have given birth last October, is also present as her first public appearance after giving birth.

Based from a bestselling manga, Mogura tells the story of Kikukawa Reiji, a lecherous- yet still virgin- policeman who got fired from his job, only to be recruited to go undercover (=mole) in a yakuza organization.

Ikuta greeted the audience saying, “kinpatsu, dotei desu” (literally a blond virgin) which garnered screams from the female audience. Although Ikuta’s primary occupation is an actor, he could be heard singing “Moguramochi”, an Ondo (Japanese folk song) during the movie’s final credits.

Directed by Miike Takashi and written by Kudo Kankuro, the movie premiered in Rome last November as part of Rome International Film Festival. This is the first time that Miike and Ikuta have worked together and being baptized into “Miike’s Group”, Ikuta said that he received a terrible treatment after having to film a naked scene during winter where he was tied in front of a  car and was brought to a car wash.

“Since it’s a ridiculous movie, please enjoy yourself,” Ikuta appealed.

Mogura no Uta senyuu sosakan REIJI” will hit the theaters on Feb 15th.
