“Shitsuren Chocolatier” is based from manga written by Mizushiro Setona that won 36th Kodansha Manga Award and sold 100 millions copies. The drama is also Matsumoto’s comeback since “Lucky Seven” (2011).

Drama ratings of Shitsuren is fairly average where most of the comments are merely the audience’s way of venting their frustration and annoyance on the entire love affair. It makes me think that Souta (Matsumoto Jun) is merely filling the years he wasted on being loyal to Saeko by sleeping around and there are women available to welcome him. My best buddy when I watched Shitsuren is my pillow, perfect for landing punches when I feel like hurting any of the annoying characters.

  1. Aww man, reading this I’m not sure if I’m in the mood to continue this drama… I watched the first four episodes and everything seemed so weirdly frustratingly random… No matter how dazzling Matsumoto-kun might look, I don’t think it’s worth the 7 hours of time :/
I just wish he would have appeared in a better-scripted drama >_<
