Chinen Yuri Joins Maruyama Ryuhei in Jigoku Sensei Nube

The second time that Chinen gets to work with someone from Kanjani8 and he’ll be doing some paranormal thingy again.

Hey!Say!JUMP‘s Chinen Yuri will be joining Kanjani8‘s Maruyama Ryuhei in his first primetime drama, “Jigoku Sensei Nube” to air this October.

“Jigoku Sensei Nube” was a popular manga serialized by Shounen Jump back in 1990s selling about 20 million copies. A school comedy about exorcising demons and evil spirits involving an elementary school teacher who possessed a “demon hand” to protect his students. The anime version was set in grade school but the drama version will be change to high school.

Chinen will playing one of Maruyama’s students as Makoto Kurita. Makoto is a kind-hearted student who believes in UFO and monsters and have a deep knowledge in paranormal realm. “Since the original has many fans, I want to work hard to play Makoto that original fans will also enjoy. It’s the first time I’ll be working with Maruyama in a drama and I hope to study and learn gags [from him],” Chinen commented.

Jigoku Sensei Nube” will start this October every Saturday on NTV.

  1. I am so looking forward to this live-action…Teacher Nube was one of those anime ikemens that has made my childhood so fun and wonderful to remember….adding Chinen in the cast has made me anticipate for it more. ❤

    I saw your tweet and I also thought that Chinen will be in grade school. Good thing they changed the storyline or it’ll be awkward. Well, knowing Chinen, he’s confident enough with his height.
