Shibutani Subaru to have Solo Debut + Live Tour

A huge break for Kanjani8’s main vocalist, which is quite delayed if you think about it.

As reported,

Kanjani8‘s Shibutani Subaru will have a solo CD debut with a double-A side single, titled: “Kioku/kokoro odoreba“.

The said song will also serve as the theme song for his upcoming first lead movie, “Misono Universe“, which will hit the theaters February next year. “kokoro odoreba” is an upbeat song that Subaru sings about the movie’s plot while “Kioku” is a ballad song to be used for the ending theme song.

This will be the first time that someone from Kanjani8 will have his solo debut. Other Johnny’s who made a solo debut while still being part of their group, are: Shonentai’s Nishikiori Kazukiyo , KinKi Kids’s Domoto Tsuyoshi and Domoto Koichi, Tackey & Tsubasa’s Takizawa Hideaki and Imai Tsubasa, NEWS’s Yamashita Tomohisa (well, he’s no longer in NEWS), NYC’s Nakayama Yuma, and Hey!Say!JUMP’s Yamada Ryosuke. Shibutani will be the 9th Johnny’s who made his solo CD debut.

In addition, Shibutani is also scheduled to have a solo live tour starting on Jan 18, 2015. There will be a total of 13 performances in 10 venues across the country. This will include a live music performance on Feb 25th at a club in Osaka where “Misono Universe” is set.

I think it’s only counting the official debuts under their own names.
Because SMAP’s Shingo, Kusanagi, Goro, and Tomoya Nagase also had released a solo single but under an alter ego/character names.
