As reported earlier, SMAP‘s Kimura Takuya will star in TV Asahi’s 55th anniversary offering in a special drama, titled: “Musashi Miyamoto“. The rests of the cast were also announced.
Kimura will play the role of the famous swordsman- Musashi Miyamoto. His fated rival, Sasaki Kojiro, will be played by Sawamura Ikki while Musashi’s tragic love interest is played by actress Maki Yoko.
In addition, Yusuke Santamaria will play the role of Musashi’s childhood friend- Matahachi and Matsuda Shota will play the master Yoshioka Seijuro. Rounding-up the splendid casts, are: Nishida Toshiyuki, Takeda Tetsuya, Yachigusa Kaoru, Baisho Mitsuko, Nakatani Miki, Azuma Mikihasa, Takaoka Saki, Ukaji Takashi, and Kaho.
The drama will highlight Musashi’s battle with his rival Sasaki Kojiro in “Battle of Ganryujima“; as well as Musashi’s 3-part battle with the Yoshioka clan.
“Musashi Miyamoto” will air with a 2-part special on Mar 15th and 16th at 9PM (JST) on TV Asahi.
