Hissatsu Shigotonin Returns this Summer

Hissatsu Shigotonin have been doing annual drama SPs but with the termination of Tanaka Koki from Johnny’s, who is set to replace him?

TV Asahi announced that there will a drama SP for “Hissatsu Shigotonin 2014” this July. The said drama will still star Higashiyama Noriyuki, TOKIO‘s Matsuoka Masahiro, and Wakui Emi. New cast addition will be Hey!Say!JUMP‘s Chinen Yuri. This will be Chinen’s second period drama after having done “Cho-Sankin”, which will hit the theaters this June.

Chinen plays the role of an heir of a small temple from the countryside. However, he chose to abandoned the way of the Buddha after an important person for him got killed and starts living as an assassin. Chinen’s youthful appearance is a breath of fresh air in stirring-up the “killer” image. He also reveals studying Kanjani8‘s Okura Tadayoshi portrayal back in Hissastsu Shigotonin’s run during 2007 and 2009 to create that “cool, bad reputation”.

As for Tanaka Koki‘s exclusion after having done the drama since 2009, “although it is regrettable, he should do his best by him,” Matsuoka commented. “Us who were left also had to adjust,” he added.
