TOKIO had their rehearsal last Dec 29th for the 64th Kohaku Uta Gassen at Shibuya Hall in Tokyo. The group, who will be performing “AMBITIOUS JAPAN“, marks their 20th time to perform in Kohaku since their debut last 1994. Yamaguchi Tatsuya can’t believe that they’ll still be doing this (Kohaku) for the last 20 years.
“It was an uncanny 20 years,” Kokubun Taichi also commented.
While there were bitter recollections, Matsuoka Masahiro is impressed that no other person (during their time of debut) have achieved 20 consecutive years of participation in Kohaku.
Lastly, Nagase Tomoya was asked to comment on his ex-girlfriend, Ayumi Hamasaki, engagement to a 25 year-old American guy, “I will be scolded if I talk,” Nagase said.
The 64th Kohaku Uta Gassen will be live in NHK on Dec 31st, 7:15 PM (JST).
