It was announced that Kanjani8‘s Yasuda Shota will star in Bunkamura‘s modern version of “Romeo and Juliet” together with Oomasa Aya and Kazama Morio. It has been three years since Yasuda did a butai.

Written by Iwamatsu Ryo, the modern version tells the story of Romeo falling in love with a prostitute (Juliet), who also happens to be his father’s lover, and eventually loses control over his feelings.

Yasuda, who will be celebrating his 10th year anniversary this September, hopes that he will be able to cultivate what he had learned all these years to give his best performance.

Titled as, “As Juliet“, the play will run from Oct 8th to 31st at Bunkamura’s Theater Cocoon in Tokyo.
